That's right, it is one of my favorite times of the year. I seriously love elections. I personally am so thankful for everyone past, present, and future, who has ever stood up and fought for my rights as an American. This is why I feel so passionate about voting and voting in every election!
Well here is my voting experience.
My voting day started off at 10am. I didn't need to be to work until 3pm and I was told to go after 10am to ensure the shortest lines possible. So I arrive to my polling place at about 10:30am. Not to bad eh? My line stretched out of the elementary school through the front side walk and around the side of the building. No big deal eh? 20 mins go by and I maybe moved 5 feet. No joke. An hour passes, then two, then three, then four. By the fourth hour I was pretty hungry and debating is this worth it? I was close to the door but was it worth it? I needed to be to work in about half an hour...it's looking like I'm not going to make it. Do I give up and go to work and maybe try to come back during my lunch break? No! I've come to far. So after standing in the rain for 4 hours I wasn't feeling to good, so I called in sick. After calling in sick, I decided I have to vote! By the time I cast my ballot the time was 3:50pm. That's right 5 hours 20 minutes later I voted.
Who did I vote for? Well, let me first say, I SUPPORT MY PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA! Seriously, for the longest time I was torn between him and McCain. And I decided to vote for McCain. Does this make me week, ignorant, or just an idiot? Maybe. HOWEVER, I love our President to be. I have already began praying for him, and I hope that he brings the change needed. It's got to be a tough job being a Dad, and the leader of the greatest nation in the world.
