When God Challenges You and Then Speaks to you

January has been a tough month. Fasting is so much easier said than done. However, when God lays certain things on my heart, I need to make sure that I am fully listening to Him and acting in obedience. I feel as though this comes through fasting. As a younger Christian, I never fasted. I love food...I'm part Italian!

During this time God has been opening doors, granting vision, and truly speaking to me regarding Generation Church. The team that He is beginning to put together is definitely going through some major spiritual warfare during this time of fasting, but we are firm that the outcome will be glorifying to the Lord.

Personally, Cyndi and I have been pleading with God to open the doors for our home here in KY to sell and the perfect house to open up in IN. Well, His timing is not ours and we must continue to be faithful not to push our agenda.

My final thought during this time is that God is God and He will do what He will do...I am called (as well as you) to be obedient in all things!

21 Day Fast: Week 1

We just completed our first week of our 21 day fast and it has been a bit difficult for me. One thing that I have given up is Facebook and Twitter for the full 21 days. You have no idea how tempted I have been to sign it, check up on friends, tweet, etc. But it has been good taking that time to spend a little extra time with Jesus.

During this fasting and time of prayer, Cyndi and I are praying for some major things to happen (but more importantly for God's will to be accomplished). Personally one big area is that we sell our house in Lexington, buy a house in North Indianapolis, and our transition is very smooth. On another note we are pleading to God for a huge increase at LifeGate Church. LG is an amazing church and is going to make a huge impact in Lexington and in our world, but a spiritual awakening is deeply needed in this city! We are also praying that God will begin to bring (which He has already started) the right people in the Noblesville, IN area that will be a part of our core team and launch team of Generation Church.

Finally as I am reflecting on a few thoughts from this past week, please pray not only for Cyndi, Micaiah, Big Beefy Baby Brown II (our baby that is due in June) and I, but please pray for our friends Mark and Courtney. They feel as though God is leading them to move to IN to be a part of Generation Church and during their time of fasting and praying Mark has been hospitalized, their daughter, Charlotte had allergic reaction to some medication that forced another hospital visit...Satan is truly attacking them and their obedience.

So as many of you are praying and fasting please keep strong, know that God is going to speak to you and that Satan will do everything in his power to distract you and take your focus off of Jesus! HOLD STRONG!
